Impromptu Knits

An impromptu move to a much colder state (Wyoming) has created some projects to interrupt my sock progress.

First up Aubrey's Fishy "Glubs'. They are really mittens, but I love the way she tries to say gloves. lol

And then a cute little hat for Sierra.

I guess now that we live in colder territory, all my knitting skills will actually be useful. :P

Color Week: Conclusion

A couple days late, Oops! But here is the completed Color Week project:

A pretty sweater for Aubrey! She absolutely loves it! She calls it her rainbow colors sweater. And refuses to take it off. :D

Here are some bonus "action shots".

Love Socks

What's this?! An actual post?! No way! I have finally decided to dust the cobwebs off and try to get this blog up and running again. Since my last post, I have had a baby girl (that is now 3 months old!), stopped and restarted knitting, and started a 365 project blog (http://365capture.blogspot.com/).

The first knitting project I have completed this year is these cute little socks for my cute little girls.

Pattern: LoveSocks (on the blog) (on Ravelry)

Yarn: Stroll Fingering Sock Yarn in natural and dyed by me

Needles: size 1 (2.25 mm) Knit Picks DPNs

Started: January 23, 2011
Finished: January 27, 2011

Notes: I used the idea of the pattern but sized it down to fit a 3 year old and a 3 month old.

My First Pattern For Sale!

I have now added my first pattern for sale in my Etsy shop! It's a sweet little cardigan that I designed for my daughter when she was born.

(It's designed to be looser than in the pictures, but I have my 7 1/2 month old daughter stuffed into the 3 month size, because that's what I had available. lol)

And now you can make it for your own little one! Available here on Etsy. (It's also on Ravelry for those interested.)

Winter Socks for Aubrey

I decided that rather than buy Aubrey some more socks that I would make her some nice knit winter socks instead. I got enough yarn to (hopefully) make 5 pairs of socks for her little feet to keep them toasty warm.

This is the first pair I made, just basic socks no fancy cables or lace or anything. I made them so that they will fit all winter long. Which means they are a little big right now, but wearable.

Socks for Aubrey

Pattern: My own toe up baby sock "recipe"

Yarn: Koigu KPPPM color P404

Needles: size 1 dpns

Details: Not really much to say here, just basic socks. This was the first time that I used the Koigu yarn (which a lot of people rave about) and I have to say it is nice yarn. The colors are gorgeous and I think that is most of the appeal of it. It's a nice squishy yarn, and very soft. Maybe I am just cheap, but for the price I would never make socks for myself out of it, unless I found it on sale for cheap somewhere.
